Choosing the neighborhood you’re going to live in a city you don’t know is hard, isn’t is? And you should know that as a newcomer in Bogota, some areas are better than others. That’s why we’ll give you information on the neighborhoods of Bogota where VICO has a greater presence because of the benefits they offer.


Because it has a lot of universities around (Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana), Chapinero is a very popular residential neighborhood in Bogota among international students.
Living close to your university is a huge advantage because the travel time in the morning and at night can greatly affect your quality of life. Plus, Bogota doesn’t have a metro and its buses are kind of famous for being always super full.

This area is known for its lively nightlife and for being one of the hippest areas of the city. At the same time it is one of the safest areas so a go-to neighborhood of Bogota for foreigners. In addition, Mercado Paloquemao can be found in the area, a market known for fresh fruits and vegetables.

La Zona Rosa (también Zona T) de Bogota

This area has a very lively nightlife and for being one of the hippest areas of the city. At the same time it also is one of the safest areas of Bogota.
Here you will find some of the best restaurants and bars in the city, as well as some of the largest malls. All those places make it a very dynamic zone, especially by night!

If you are looking for an accommodation in this area, you will find many entertainment options of all kinds. A lot of foreigners live here, so you won’t have any problem finding new friends.

Chico is one of the most modern neighborhoods of Bogota and also the safest. There are many shopping malls, restaurants and bars to explore. A highlight of this area is Parque 93, where you can enjoy the afternoon with your friends and go to one of the many markets or festivals that take place on the weekends. Nearby you’ll also find a wide variety of restaurants and bars.

Barrio Usaquén

Bogota’s Usaquén neighborhood is known for its colonial-style buildings, which create a nice atmosphere. In addition, the great variety of restaurants and bars creates a flow of local and international visitors.

The largest flea market in Bogota takes place every Sunday in Parque Usaquén. Here you can find many interesting items such as bags, artesanal goods, paintings and handmade crafts. An ideal Sunday in this area would include a shopping followed by having lunch at one of the many restaurants nearby or simply watching people.
